“Wow!”

Reflection on chapter 6, Developing Personal Learning Networks for Open and Social Learning (PDF download, sorry) in Emerging Technologies in Distance Education.

I am very interested in the connectivism learning principle discussed in the chapter. It’s not like other learning theories that tell us to learn from our experiences, our past knowledge; connectivism theory wants us to learn from the interaction. I think it is possible to achieve this because online platforms have become more and more inclusive, we can see diverse users are utilizing online platforms to transmit knowledge. I want to share this video about connectvism because I think it speaks to the principles that Couros outlined for us.

“Wonder?”

I wonder how we can benefit from connectivism when we lack the teaching structure to direct us. I think it is important to have a structure, or should I say, curriculum that could help us navigate the content.
